Instructor Kraus, Detlef

Instructor Bio

Detlef (Douglas) Kraus grew up in Germany, and is fluent in German and English. He has long been interested in cross-contextual learning methods, which may explain why he offers classes in three of our course categories: "Language","Music" and "Health & Well-Being." A trained musician, he teaches classical and modern piano throughout the Boston area, focusing on beginning and intermediate students here at Newton Community Ed. He also has over ten years of experience practicing Tai Chi, Qigong, and related arts. He studied extensively with Bill Ryan and Alan Dougall of Brookline Tai Chi (one of the largest and most respected Tai Chi schools in North America), and teaches Tai Chi in Greater Boston.
