Pottery is one of the world’s oldest and most widespread art forms, and clay is also one of the most enduring materials known to humankind. In fact, fired clay is one of the only materials on earth that doesn’t change with time. Unearth your inner potter by learning to create your own future artifacts. Our instructor will teach you the fundamentals of both hand building and wheel throwing. You’ll practice forming cups, bowls, cylinders, and vases on the wheel, and learn techniques for creating pinch pots, slabs, coils, and sculptural pieces by hand. You’ll also glaze your pieces and learn about the firing process. A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
