Limited Residential Contractor Licensing Course

Are you are interested in transitioning from construction worker to contractor? Would you like to start your own construction business? If so this course may be what you need to help you get started to eventually take the exam and become a fully licensed contractor. The 30 hours of instruction includes a review of the license application process, the International Building Code, an introduction to TN construction laws, legal and financial issues, accounting practices, loans, liens, and insurance. Participants will learn how to read blueprints, build to specifications, and adhere to codes and regulations. Successful completion of this class exempts applicants from taking the contractor licensing exam if they want to obtain a limited residential contractor license (BC-Ar). All other rules, regulation, and statutes must be met to qualify. Course meets the requirement of the Tennessee State Board for Restricted/Limited Residential License (BC-A/r).  Books and Materials are included in the fee.

Upon completion of the course, the individuals will have the basic knowledge to own and operate a small construction company and will be able to apply for a Limited Residential Contractor's License issued by the TN State Board for Licensing Contractors. All other rules, regulations, and statues must be met to qualify.
