Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares one to work with long-term care patients, such as those in nursing homes and home health care. Instruction includes medical terminology, health care safety, patient care lecture, patient care studies, practice lab situations, and on-site clinical.

Applicants are required to provide the following prior to enrollment.

  1. GED/HiSET Certificate, TABE test, High School Diploma or Official Transcript - Must present original documents at the time of registration
  2. Criminal History Record - Processing can take several weeks
  3. Current Health Insurance

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive a certificate of completion and be recognized as a Certified Nurse Assistant in Louisiana. The student must complete all coursework with a grade "C" or better and score at least 70% on the final exam to successfully complete the program. Students will receive CNA certificate after all fees have been paid. 

Because of documentation required to register, students must come in person.

All students taking an online course(s) at BPCC for the first time are REQUIRED to participate in the Student Blackboard Online Orientation and complete an assessment at the end.  Please contact our office at 678-6015 for more information about the Online Orientation course. To participate in an online course, you will need your own computer with a fast, reliable Internet connection.
