| Description |
In this 8-week course, the myriad of tools for storytelling are explored in the safety of an intimate group. Class discussion, inspirational readings, and in-class writing exercises result in the completion of several pieces. Beginning and intermediate students are invited to polish old work or begin new pieces. Whether working on personal essays, memoirs or fiction, the tools for telling a story are the same: descriptive language, character development, imagery, structure, point of view and rooting interest. Open to all. Required Text:The Story and Its Writer (Compact Seventh Edition) by Ann Charters. |
