| Description |
Description: Designed for both the long-time professional preparing to "test-in" for the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) certification, or the Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) certification, and for traditional, career-ladder applicants who are entry-testing for either accreditation. Students receive a study guide, testing techniques and test-design theory overview, and practice quizzes of relevant material. The hybrid classroom/online format features a 150-question exam similar in scope and form to the actual tests, focusing on the 12 Core Counselor Functions and Five Performance Domains. Test and quiz results are interpreted as assessments of strengths and areas for improvement for each individual student. Anyone preparing for, or considering taking, the CCBDAC-administered written examinations is encouraged to take this class. Note: This class does not apply toward certification requirements. Required text: Global Criteria, The 12 Core Functions of the Subtance Abuse Counselor, 4th Edition, John Herdman. Recommended: Technical Assistance Publication 21 (TAP 21) Addiction Counseling Competencies; The Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes of Professional Practice. www.samhsa.gov, or National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI), 1- 800-729-6686. Class has been cancelled due to low enrollment. |
